Project Selection- Magazine

 Image result for magazineFor my AICE Media Studies exam i have to pick between a movie or a magazine. The magazine does have many benefits: I can do it on my own, I could use my people skills to interview someone and coming up with an over all topic would be easy. The information used throughout the magazine article would be passed on the answers from various interviews. This would be better than a movie because I would not have to write a full script and figure out what camera angles I would need to use. Issues that I might face when making a movie would be scheduling interviews with people and trying to coordinate it all. My skills work better collaborating with a group of people feeding ideas off of one another. Considering everything I believe that the magazine is not the right fit for me.

Rough Draft Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq5-Bx8pH4 Our rough draft is attached. Today we edited our film which was a very slow tedious process with the program we used. We filmed multiple shots so we could just grab the ones we wanted to use for the end film. The film was first 4 mins long, but after editing we got it down to a little over 2 minutes. During the production of the film we encountered some difficulties. Some of these difficulties were arranging a time that would not infer with the younger kids napping schedule. The camera also died on us resulting in the usage of a phone, which gave the same quality as the camera. Every member in the group did something to make sure the filming of the project went smoothly. We wanted to make sure everyone got a turn in filming the film in some way and to also have their input in the editing of the video.

Film Research #2- Bad Moms

The second film we decided to watch, to get a feel about what occurs in the oping scene of a comedy movie, was Bad Moms. This movie is based on three moms who try to live a perfect life for their kids and family; however, they have gotten sick and tired of being perfect all the time and have reached the tipping point. The genre of the film is a comedy. In the opening of the film, it gives us a brief background of the main character Amy Mitchel, played by Mila Kunis, how her everyday life is running her kids around to getting to work to having metal break downs. Throughout the film, the movie is consist of film making techniques so it flows together. In the beginning it starts off with an aerial shot of the average family homes in a neighborhood to a close up of Amy rushing her kids in her car.
